What do you want your retirement to look like?
Lise and Roland have helped many of their clients with their retirement by helping them identify what's important to them and then helping them achieve their goals. Some of the questions they ask at the very start are as follows:
- What do you want your retirement to look like?
- Do you plan to travel?
- Where will you live?
- Do you have a second career in mind?
- Are you looking to volunteer?
- Do you plan to golf or do other sports?
Then comes the crucial question:
- When do you plan to retire?
From there, a plan is formulated to help the individual or couple, achieve their retirement dream.
Thinking Over an Early Retirement Offer
Most employees look forward to when they will retire but they always assume that they will decide when that day will come. Sometimes, however, it's the employer who offers the suggestion that now would be a good time for retirement.
An early retirement incentive offer may be optional; if that is the case, careful consideration must be made whether to accept. If the offer is not optional, no decision is required but there are still plans to work through and preparations to make.
Lise and Roland have worked with many individuals faced with this decision. They have helped these individuals determine whether it is the right choice for them at this time, whether it is viable in terms of their current financial situation and whether the intangible benefits of early retirement outweigh the financial costs.
